These shirts were first introduced in the 1930s and gained popularity in the 1950s. The original Hawaiian shirts were made from recycled kimono fabric. To perfect the fit, the brand conducted research by examining a good friend's collection of vintage Hawaiian shirts spanning various time periods.
Freenote takes pride in subtle details such as the engineered pocket, as well as the 1/8” double-needle accents throughout, with high stitch count sewing. All Freenote buttons are custom-made with subtle branding. Whenever possible, all labels are crafted in Italy using a cotton base.
The cut features a relaxed fit, staying true to the classic aloha shirts, and follows standard sizing. If you usually wear a size M in Freenote tops or other American brands, you'll find a suitable fit with this shirt in size M.
