Sanders Japan Brit Chukka Polo Snuff Suede

For over 150 years, Sanders has been crafting quality footwear in Northampton, England. Among its most iconic designs is the “Playboy Chuck,” a model that came to embody Steve McQueen’s British mid-century style.The Brit Chukka, created exclusively for the Japan Collection, is a careful reinterpretation of this classic. Its rounded 1960s-inspired toe reflects a version long admired by enthusiasts and often cited as a footwear icon.

The Japan Collection was originally produced only for the Japanese market, with designs rooted in Sanders’ extensive military archive. Since 2018, these models have been made available internationally only at a few select, exclusive retailers, preserving their aura of rarity.

It is made in Polo Snuff Suede from the world-renowned CF Stead tannery in Leeds. CF Stead has specialised in premium suedes for over a century, prized for their rich colours, natural nap, and long-lasting resilience. Combined with Sanders’ Mudguard rubber sole construction, hidden metal eyelets, waxed laces, and full leather lining, the Brit Chukka is a refined expression of both British craftsmanship and Japanese exclusivity.
