Part of Studio D’Artisan's exclusive Extreme Denim capsule, these straight-leg jeans redefine rugged elegance. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the jeans feature a mid-rise fit and a classic straight silhouette, making them both timeless and versatile.

The standout feature of this garment is its 16oz Extreme Denim fabric, one of the most impressive fabrics we’ve seen recently at Redcast. A groundbreaking creation, it is born from Japanese dyeing heritage and artisanal weaving expertise. The kakishibu (persimmon) warp threads are dyed using the traditional kasezome method, blending No. 6 slub and nep yarns to create extraordinary texture and depth. Through relentless beating on shuttle looms, the fabric acquires an intense unevenness that sets it apart from conventional denim. Complementing the warp, the weft is woven with No. 5 super-slub yarns, imbuing the jeans with a raw, rugged texture and weight.

Every detail of these jeans speaks to Studio D’Artisan’s devotion to craftsmanship: custom copper buttons, high-quality pocket bags, a robust cowhide leather patch and an exceptional selvedge ID in the form of a Persimmon leaf sashiko pattern. The leather patch, applied after the tempi wash treatment, undergoes an additional stitching process—a testament to Studio D’Artisan’s relentless pursuit of perfection.

Fit Notes: SDA Jeans typically run slightly small, but this is not the case with this Kakishibu Jeans. We find them to be true to size, so we recommend selecting your usual size. However, as always, we advise checking the size chart first to ensure the perfect fit. The fabric is unsanforized but the jeans have been pre-washed, so no shrinkage is expected.
