This Tanuki Type II jacket is crafted from the brand’s 15oz Indigo x Indigo selvedge denim, a richly textured fabric with both warp and weft rope-dyed in deep indigo for striking tonal depth and bold fades. Woven with a low-tension technique, this denim offers excellent breathability, a soft hand feel, and fast, high-contrast aging thanks to its irregular slubby and neppy surface.

The cut is a modern interpretation of the Type II jacket with a longer body, slimmer arms, and practical side pockets.. This extra length also allows for the addition of discreet hand-warmer pockets at the hips, adding modern function to a timeless design.

On the shoulder, Tanuki’s embroidered 二 (Ni) logo adds a symbolic layer to the piece. In Japanese Kanji, the two lines represent balance: the lower line signifies tradition and peace, while the upper stands for innovation and strength.
